A lot of people ask how Gritty Goat Soapery got started… and honestly, it started with a little girl, a few goats, and a whole lot of love. 🤍
I grew up in South Mississippi and had goats as a child, so farm life always felt like home to me. During COVID, while the world slowed down, our family started bottle raising baby goats. That’s where Oreo — our OG goat — came into the picture. 🐐
What began as a few goats quickly grew into a herd, a farm, and eventually a dream we never expected.
We fell in love with this slower kind of life — early mornings feeding babies, milking goats by hand, and teaching Aly the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for something beyond yourself.
As our goat crew grew, so did the idea for Gritty Goat Soapery.
I wanted to create products that were not only beautiful to look at, but truly nourishing for your skin — handmade the old-fashioned way using milk from the goats we raise right here on our farm.
Before long, this became about more than soap. It became about building a life we were proud of — one rooted in family, hard work, faith, and creating something meaningful with our hands.
In a world that feels rushed and disconnected, there’s something special about returning to simple things: fresh goat milk, honest ingredients, early mornings, and the kind of work that brings people together.
Every product we make carries a little piece of our story with it.
And the truth is… none of this would exist without the girls out in the barn who started it all. 🤍
